Autumn Open Day

29th September 2019 @ 11:00 am - 4:30 pm

£10.00 – £35.00

Join us as we start the new season with our Autumn Open Day on Sunday 29th September 2019, featuring topiary masterclasses with James Crebbin-Bailey of Topiary Arts, an art exhibition with Debbie Chatfield and an optional Autumnal Afternoon Tea.

James Crebbin-Bailey is recognised as a specialist in Sculptural Topiary, creating new and innovative shapes; as well as classical Topiary designs such as Spirals, Cloud pruned Topiary, wave hedging or Topiary Peacocks. The Buxus ‘Onions’ in Hornbeam Avenue are just a mere sample of the stunning work James carries out at Mitton Manor Gardens each year.

His skills in creating Topiary shapes have been recognised by industry leaders and his work and demonstrations have been featured in many classical exhibits displaying Topiary – Chelsea, Hampton Court, RHS London and on TV. James’ Topiary and tuition are featured in several books. James is an RHS Chelsea Flower Show Gold Medal Winner (2011, 2012).

Local Artist Debbie Chatfield is passionate about all things art. Her love of experimenting with various mediums and textured art is evident in all of her works.

Believing that it is possible to acquire inspiration from anywhere, Debbie is enthusiastic to share her passion for art with others; as she proves by tutoring a diverse range of abilities in her art classes and workshops, and by using a great many different mediums.

Debbie’s Spring/Summer collection, featuring Mitton Manor’s gardens, will be launched at our Autumn Open Day on Sunday 29th September 2019.

The gardens will open from 11:00am – 16:30pm. Guests are given a choice of two sittings to enjoy their tea and talks – either at 12 noon or at 14.30pm.

Enjoy the Autumn foliage as it starts to turn into fiery colours in Mitton Manor Gardens.
